On a trip to New York City recently, I had heard about a restaurant near the Union Square area called Max Brenner. They are a chain across the nation and they serve up normal regular food plus delicious chocolate desserts, drinks, and treats. It certainly is like Hawaii to people who love chocolate and will find themselves in paradise.
Let me start off by giving you the vibe of the restaurant, which is chocolate themed, of course, and pipes run throughout the restaurant above where chocolate is supposedly going through. Think of Willy Wonka!
I ordered the regular Cheese pizza, which was right off the children’s menu, and I thought it was one of the best I’ve had. The kids menu includes a drink, an entree, and chocolate dessert. My drink was the hot chocolate “suckao” which is milk in a small cup, which sits on a platform with a candle beneath it, where you can add in how much chocolate pieces you want. The candle melts the chocolate within the milk, and it is very rich! As far as my chocolate dessert, a.k.a., the best part, I chose the chocolate pizza which is a normal pizza crust/bread, with melted chocolate and marshmallows. There is some ice cream to make it less chocolatey, as I was feeling like I had too much sugar. ;)
Max Brenner offers a wide variety of menu choices, and is a popular destination at night, so be sure to get a reservation, but you will find out that it is worth the wait.
Some of the locations their restaurants are in Las Vegas (the original), newly opened Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and in other countries.

Max Brenner, A Chocolate Lover’s Restaurant
